A special kids’ play area with a splash zone supplied by Madisonville Fire and Rescue will also be part of the celebrations. BB’s Bouncers will also be erecting inflatables and water slides in the parking lot of city hall and on College Street, directly in front of it. Beginning with a Parade of Classic Cars and Bicycles
Director of Madisonville Main Street Karen Carey said she is looking forward to the celebration this year. Starting at Madisonville Primary School, the event will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a historic automobile and bike parade that will loop back to downtown for a vehicle show after traveling down Main Street to O’Reilly. The major events start at 3 p.m. after the parade.
Fun Activities Abounding During the Day
Among the many events planned for the day are a cornhole competition in front of the “stone building” next to Memorial Park on Tellico Street at 2:00 p.m. All day long there will be a plethora of food trucks, live music, and kid-friendly events that will finish with a spectacular fireworks show at about 9:30 p.m.
